Updated:Dec.22
On the 14th of December, the Faculty of Education’s School for Children with Special Needs held a Trombone and Piano Appreciation Concert that was attended by over one hundred and ten pupils and their guardians. The concert was part of the Artist Dispatch Project organized by the Japanese Agency for Cultural Affairs and was held with aim of encouraging the development of sensitivity and artistic abilities in pupils at the schools to which the artists are sent.
The musicians included world famous trombonist, Takahiro Ono, and pianist Kayoko Munehisa who primarily plays in Yamaguchi Prefecture. After an explanation regarding the trombone, the artists performed eight songs including Bach’s “Cantata” and, upon the children’s request, “Jingle Bells” and “Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea”.
The children were treated to the beautiful songs and rhythms of the live performance and thoroughly enjoyed the special event.
