President of Hanoi University of Mining and Geology Visits Our University and Signs Interdepartmental Academic Exchange Agreement

On Monday, March 17, 2025, Professor Tran Thanh Hai, President of Hanoi University of Mining and Geology (HUMG), and Lecturer Nguyen Thanh Duong of the Faculty of Geoscience and Geoengineering at HUMG — also an alumnus of our university — paid a visit to our institution.
The delegation made a courtesy call on Trustee/ Vice President for Promotion of Personnel and Salary Management /Regional Cooperation Prof. Masato Shinji, Vice President for International Cooperation, Prof. Yuri Ishii, Prof. Emeritus Kazuhiro Tanaka, Prof. Motoyuki Suzuki of the Graduate School of Sciences and Technology for Innovation, Professor Takehiro Ohta of the same graduate school, and Mr. Hiroyuki Tanaka, Director of the International Affairs Division. During the meeting, the HUMG delegation provided an overview of their university and shared the purpose of their visit. Vice President Ishii introduced our university in return, followed by a lively discussion on future collaboration and exchanges.
To conclude the visit, Trustee Shinji handed over the signed Interdepartmental Academic Exchange Agreement, endorsed by Dean Yoichi Yamada of the Faculty of Engineering, to President Tran in a cordial and friendly atmosphere.
This visit served as a valuable opportunity to deepen mutual understanding between the two institutions and to explore new possibilities for academic collaboration. Moving forward, we aim to further strengthen our partnership with HUMG in alignment with our “Yamaguchi University Vision 2030” goal of creating a diverse and inclusive campus.
