Kent State University Associate Professor Anthony Tosi Visits Yamaguchi University.

On June 12, 2025, Associate Professor Anthony Tosi of Kent State University, the United States, paid a courtesy visit to Yamaguchi University.

Associate Professor Tosi also visited the Faculty of Engineering in the 2024 academic year and is dedicated to strengthening the collaboration between the two universities. During this visit, he met with Chisa Yamada, Study Abroad Program Officer at the Center for Engineering Education and Research, and Ai Matsunaga, General Affairs and Planning Section Chief, at Yamaguchi University’s Tokiwa Campus. They exchanged information on the current situation surrounding higher education institutions in the U.S. and discussed future collaborations, including short-term language training programs.

Following this, Professor Tosi met with Associate Professor Rei Shiraishi of the Graduate School of Technology for Innovation and her lab students, exchanging ideas on partnerships and study abroad opportunities. Students actively asked questions about studying in the U.S., making for a fruitful session.

Prior to his visit to the Faculty of Engineering, Professor Tosi also visited the Ogushi Campus to discuss collaboration with the School of Health Sciences. The following day, he visited the Yoshida Campus, where he held discussions with Vice President for International Affairs Ishii and other faculty members, and gave a presentation to students interested in studying in the U.S. Overall, it was a productive two-day visit.

Yamaguchi University will continue to hold discussions to build beneficial programs for students from both institutions.
