To become an undergraduate student, you must take and pass an entrance examination. Yamaguchi University offers a special entrance examination for privately-funded international students. Non-Japanese individuals may also take the general entrance examination or the entrance examination designed for working people, however, because both require a high level of Japanese language skills, we strongly recommend that non-native Japanese speakers take the \u201cEntrance Examination for Privately-funded International Students<\/span>\u201d<\/p>\n

1\uff0eFaculties at Yamaguchi University<\/h3>\n

Yamaguchi University boasts nine Faculties: the Faculty of Humanities, Faculty of Education, Faculty of Economics, Faculty of Science, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Agriculture, Joint Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, and Faculty of Global and Science Studies. 2. Entrance Applications Available Abroad<\/h3>\n

Those wishing to attend the Faculty of Economics or the Faculty of Engineering can apply with the Entrance Application for Privately-funded International Students without coming to Japan. The application for these two faculties consists only of screening of submitted documentation. A faculty specific examination is not required. Applicants for any other faculty are requested to come and take the Entrance Examination for Privately-funded International Students in Japan.<\/p>\n

3. Eligibility for the Entrance Examination for Privately Funded International Students<\/h3>\n

You must satisfy the following requirements for admission to the Examination:
Non-Japanese national\u203b1<\/span>\u203b2 who corresponds to any of the following and took the <\/span>\u201cExamination for Japanese University Admission for International Students (EJU)<\/span>\u201d administered by the Independent Administrative Institution Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO) and either TOEIC or TOEFL.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

1) Those who completed or will complete 12 years of school education overseas or an education defined as equivalent by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology<\/p>\n

2) Those designated by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (which means candidates who obtained either an international baccalaureate diploma, Abitur diploma, or France\u2019s baccalaureate diploma)<\/span><\/p>\n

3) Those who completed a 12-year course at an educational facility accredited for educational activities by WASC (USA), ACSI (USA) or CIS (UK).<\/p>\n

TOEIC\/TOEFL<\/strong><\/p>\n

For the Department of Medicine at Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Agriculture, and Joint Faculty of Veterinary Medicine only accept SP test\u203b3 scores. For the Faculty of Economics and Faculty of Engineering, \u00a0those with a score either over 400 in TOEIC, over 40 in TOEFL iBT, or over 435 in TOEFL PBT are eligible to apply for admission.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u203b1 Candidates who hold Permission for Permanent Residence are not eligible for this examination.
<\/span>\u203b2 Non-Japanese nationals who graduated or will graduate from high school in
Japan are ineligible for this admission as they receive the same treatment as general applicants.
<\/span>\u203b3 SP tests, composed of new questions, are administered in Japan and Korea
only. TOEIC taken outside these countries are not considered as SP test.<\/span><\/p>\n

4. Admission Schedule<\/h3>\n

The Entrance Examination for Privately-funded International Students is held twice a year. Applicants can take either test.<\/p>\n

(1) Faculty of Economics, Faculty of Engineering<\/strong>
Application Period: August
\u203bNo individual examination will be held.
<\/span>\u203bResults of EJU and academic transcript will be evaluated thoroughly, so applicants do not need to come to Japan for the entrance exam.
