Srinakharinwirot University in Thailand, one of the Yamaguchi University’s international exchange partner universities, paid a courtesy visit to Yamaguchi University

 

On Monday, September 12, 2022, Dr. Chomchanok, Head of Department of Geography, Faculty of Social Sciences, and 7 academic staff from Srinakharinwirot University in Thailand, one of the Yamaguchi University’s international exchange partner universities, paid a courtesy visit to Yamaguchi University (YU).
Since Srinakharinwirot University and YU, Center for Research and Application of Satellite Remote Sensing (YUCARS) hope to cooperate in the field of remote sensing and GIS (geographic information system), the delegation visited YU to discuss future collaboration.

From YU, Dr. KAMINISHI Ken (Trustee, Academic Research), Dr. ISHII Yuri (Vice President for International Cooperation), and Prof. Dr. NAGAI Masahiko (Director of YUCARS) participated in the meeting. At first, Dr. KAMINISHI gave a welcome greeting then Dr. ISHII introduced YU.
In response to them, the delegation asked about current situation of students from their university and the exchange students program. They also expressed their expectations for future collaboration with YUCARS.

The relationship between two universities have started from academic collaboration based on the JSPS-NRCT core University Program in 1998-2008.We concluded the university-wide agreement in 2001.Currently, it is expanding to student exchange with Faculty of Global and Science Studies, and an overseas technical training program for students of Faculty of Engineering.

It is expected that this courtesy visit will lead to further active research and student exchanges between the two universities.
