Information for Prospective Students

Admissions Policy

1. We seek applicants who aim to be leading professionals with a high level of expertise in fields related to East Asia.
2. We evaluate candidates for admission who have a deep respect for and understanding of the regional characteristics of East Asia.
3. We are particularly interested in strongly motivated, creative students who possess a high degree of competency to carry out independent research based on their predetermined plans.

Application Procedure for Admission to The Graduate School of East Asian Studies, Yamaguchi University （April, October 2025)Enrollment

It is essential that you request application forms directly from the office of Graduate School of East Asian Studies (the Faculty of Economics), Yamaguchi University, DIRECTLY (we are open between 8:30 to 17:15) or request them by postal mail from the address below. If you are posting your request from within Japan, please enclose a self-addressed envelope with a \320 stamp and a memo mentioning that you require a Graduate School of East Asian Studies Application Form.

We can provide screening of prospective applicants prior to their travel to Japan, in the applicant’s home country. Application forms are available for download here.
