Our Lab

Dairy cows undergo dynamic metabolic changes during calving and lactation. Nutritional deficiencies and stress during this period (the periparturient period) significantly increase the risk of developing diseases such as hypocalcemia, ketosis, and mastitis, as well as hoof disorders. To stabilize and improve dairy farm productivity, we are onducting research on the prevention of periparturient diseases and hoof care in both individual cows and herd management. We are also engaged in the conservation of rare animals kept in Japan, such as native Japanese horses and those in zoos.
